Eastman Chemical Company is a leading international chemical compnay that produces more than 400 chemicals, fibers and plastics. It is the world's largest supplier of polyester plastics for packaging; a leading supplier of coating raw materials, specialty chemicals and plastics, and a major supplier of cellulose acetate fibers and basic chemicals. The South Carolina facility produces packaging plastics for use in the beverage and food packing industry. The Calhoun plant is the largest manufacturer of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) polymers in the United States.
